[Recommended for students] Waplus Kyoto rental plan

Waplus Kyoto offers a variety of plans to fit your Kyoto sightseeing schedule, from the “3-hour rental plan” and “1-day rental plan” recommended for students to the “couple plan” recommended for couples.

Here, we will explain the five plans: “3-hour rental plan,” “1-day rental plan,” “Hakama plan,” “Yukata plan,” and “Couple plan.”

In addition to the ones we introduce, we also have plans such as the “Kyobijin Plan” and “Furisode Plan,” so if you are interested, please check them out.

3 hour rental plan

The first thing we will introduce is the 3-hour rental plan.

This is a rental plan for only 3 hours in the morning.

This is the most recommended plan for those who want to rent a kimono as cheaply as possible or want to sightsee in Kyoto in a kimono for the morning.

You can rent your favorite kimono from a variety of original kimonos, lace kimonos, retro antique kimonos, and modern kimonos.

■3 hour rental plan
Price: 2,980 yen
Kimono: original kimono, lace kimono, antique kimono, modern kimono
*This plan will be returned at 12:00.

1 day rental plan

This one-day rental plan is recommended for those who want to tour Kyoto in a kimono from daytime until evening!

This plan allows you to relax and enjoy Kyoto in a kimono until 6pm, so you can enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto without being pressed for time.

Just like the “3-hour rental plan,” you can find your favorite kimono from lace kimonos, retro antique kimonos, trendy kimonos, and more.

■1 day rental plan
Price: 4,400 yen
Kimono: original kimono, lace kimono, antique kimono, modern kimono

Hakama Plan

The next thing we would like to introduce is the Hakama Plan.

Hakama has the impression of being worn at graduation ceremonies and coming-of-age ceremonies, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear it at other times.

Hakama was once worn by female students, and I think many people like it for its chic charm, which is different from the kimono.

Pair it with a lace kimono or retro kimono from Waplus Kyoto and a hakama for a very cute look.

If you like hakama, please try using this hakama plan.

■Hakama Plan
Price: 5,500 yen
Kimono: original kimono, lace kimono, antique kimono, modern kimono, hakama

Yukata plan

The most popular summer kimono is the yukata.

Waplus Kyoto offers the “Yukata Plan” as a limited plan only from June to September.

You can wear your favorite yukata, from stylish brand yukata to retro yukata.
This is the most recommended plan for sightseeing in Kyoto in the summer.

■Yukata plan (June to September only)
Price: 3,850 yen
Kimono: Yukata

Couple plan

The last thing we would like to introduce is the “Couple Plan.”

I think there are many students who are planning a trip to Kyoto as a couple.

If you are planning to visit Kyoto, going on a date wearing kimono around the city will surely make your Kyoto sightseeing even more special.

■Couple plan
Price: 8,800 yen
Kimono: original kimono, lace kimono, antique kimono, modern kimono

Recommended photo spots in Kyoto

Yasaka Koshindo

Rental Kimono at Yasaka Koshindo
Yasaka Koshindo is a popular photo spot in Kyoto on social networking sites such as Instagram.

The biggest attraction is the amulet called “Kukurizaru.”

When you enter Yasaka Koshindo, you will see many colorful round beanbag-like objects hanging there.

This amulet is called the “Kukuri-zaru”, and it is said that by writing a wish on this “Kukuri-zaru” and hanging it up, “if you resist one desire, your wish will come true.”

If you take a photo with this kukuri monkey in the background, you will be able to take a fantastic and memorable photo with the kimono in the background.

Kimono Forest

Kimono Forest
Kimono Forest refers to the decorations using Kyo Yuzen kimonos inside Arashiyama Station on the Keifuku Electric Railway Arashiyama Line.

This decoration is made of Kyo Yuzen fabric wrapped in acrylic and placed on a pole about 2 meters high. The sight of tubes filled with kimonos placed all over the station premises and along the railroad tracks resembles a kimono forest, and is also known as the “Kyoto Yuzen Light Forest.”

You can enjoy seeing the various patterns of Kyoto Yuzen during the day, but we recommend visiting at night!

In fact, each of these Kyo Yuzen kimono poles is equipped with LEDs, which are lit up at night and transform into a fantastic kimono forest.

By taking photos with the illuminated Kyoto Yuzen in the background, you will be able to take photos that will make you feel as if you are standing in the light.

We especially recommend the area known as the “Kimono Path”, where both sides are lined with Kyoto Yuzen poles, where you can take pictures typical of Kyoto in the warm light!

Business period: Visiting hours: All day, Light up: Evening – 21:00 *Lights up until 23:00 in some areas *Changes may occur during the winter season
